Aussie deadline for fenthion products is 15 October

According to the APVMA, cancelled products may only be used or supplied until 15 October 2015, which is the end of the phase out period.

In addition, Product 61308 Lebaycid Fruit Fly and Insect Killer may not be used on any food producing plants in the home garden during the phase out period, which also ends on 15 October 2015.

Product 32996 Lebaycid Insecticide Spray bearing the label approval 0110 must only be used according to the instructions in the APVMA gazette and also in Permits PER13840 (WA only) and PER13841 (other states and territories) and any other permits issued by the APVMA until 15 October 2015.

Following the finalisation of the fenthion review, the active constituent 44383-Fenthion was cancelled at the request of the holder on 3 November 2014. Consequently, the registrations of the products 32996: Lebaycid Insecticide Spray and 41138: Amalgamated Pest Control 1% Fenthion Dust were also cancelled.

These cancelled products may only be used or supplied according to the instructions in the APVMA Gazette Notice 22, 4 November 2014 until 2 November 2015, which is the end of the phase out period for product bearing the labels varied as an outcome of the review.

A list of minor use permits issued by the APVMA for alternative chemical options other than dimethoate or fenthion is available.
