She was previously the chief executive of Wellington Combined Taxis, as well as having held senior management roles at Datacom in Wellington.

Hayman is a Chartered Accountant, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a member of the NZ Institute of Directors. She is also a trustee of Osteoporosis NZ.
