Business Development Manager, Hillary Riches, says, “We are delighted to have The Warehouse and The Pallet Company on board again this year with this challenge. Feedback from last year’s challengers indicated that this was a great way to get kids in schools involved in growing their own gardens.”
All schools in the region will have the opportunity to apply for up to three garden bins, one per class to grow their edible gardens. Soil and plants are being supplied by The Warehouse, with The Pallet Company in Napier providing the bins.
The Bostock New Zealand Edible Garden Show is a FREE ENTRY two-day event in Waikoko Gardens at Showgrounds Hawke’s Bay, 12-13 September. There are a number of exciting things on offer throughout the day along with many competitions that kids and adults can get involved in prior to the event.
The event encapsulates four key elements including food, gardening, landscape and animals. There will be a range of great entertainment as well as educational opportunities with workshops, presentations, competitions and the opportunity to mix and mingle with experts within these fields. It will appeal to everyone from seasoned gardeners to complete novices, enthusiastic cooks, lifestylers, families, youth and anyone who wants to embrace a healthier way of living.
