It said that a lot of thought was put into the decision, as the report contains benefits as well as potential negative impacts on the industry. However, it was decided there was greater value in endorsing the report.

HortNZ business manager, Chris Keenan, worked with the chair of LAWF to agree on additional text on key topics in the report, and this has provided greater clarity and direction to government.

HortNZ said it will make further input to ensure the best outcome as the document progresses.
