Kua has backed the assertion from the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission, ICCC, over Tomscoll's decision.
He says the law may apply to one specific vegetable importer and not all vegetables. “One importer cannot be granted an exemption to the general ban discriminating against all the other vegetable importers.”
Kua urged the Agriculture Minister to review his decision and make a better decision for all stakeholders in the vegetable import industry, and encouraged those in authority to make decisions where everyone can be an equal benefactor of the vegetable industry. He says there are better decisions, which the Agriculture Minister and the department can make for the country.
