NZFGA’s  Association with “The Flower Association of Queensland Incorporated”

The “Flower Association of Queensland Inc” [FAQI] produces a bi monthly magazine for the Australian cut flower and foliage industry. It covers many aspects of the Australian flower industry from both a grower and a florist perspective. NZFGA members receive this magazine as part of their subscription.

The following are a selection of the current items from FAQI online updates and their December magazine issue.

  • Involvement in opposing a new Federal “Backpackers Tax” as backpackers supply much of the casual summertime labour needed.

  • Involvement in the latest quad bike research where too many farm accidents still occur

  • Promotion of farming – “Energy & Technology Forum” outlining the latest in renewable energy technologies and farm irrigation systems.

  • Free online tool for best farming options in your area.

  • Less blue light better for roses.

  • Grants for businesses – what is available in Australia.

  • Farm dam ready reckoner.
