Pinot Noir NZ 2017 registrations open

Set on Wellington’s waterfront, Pinot Noir NZ 2017 is where all international wine media, trade, enthusiasts, and lovers of the popular wine variety will want to be, discovering why New Zealand is at the forefront of New World Pinot Noir.

Running over three days, from 31 January 2017, 500 attendees will be immersed in an aspirational and thought-provoking programme, exploring and embracing New Zealand Pinot Noir, its people and its underlying sense of place.

The event’s chairman, Ben Glover, says a year out, talk of Pinot Noir NZ 2017 celebration is already creating a huge buzz, “People from all corners of the globe are excited about getting an unparalleled insight into New Zealand’s explosive Pinot Noir scene.”

Three very diverse and celebrated personalities have already signed up to lead Pinot Noir 2017’s all-star guest speaker list. Confirmed in the line-up are: the world’s most influential wine commentator, Jancis Robinson MW, OBE; Japan’s highly eminent wine and sake expert Ken Ohashi, MW; and Grammy Award-winning Tool frontman and winemaker Maynard James Keenan (MJK), from Arizona US.

Glover said without question, that Pinot Noir 2017 will be ‘the’ event to attend in the wine world that year: “if you’re a Pinot Noir fanatic, or just intrigued by this all-consuming variety, this is one event you cannot miss. You’ll mix, mingle and rub shoulders with the greatest wine minds in the world, improve your knowledge about NZ Pinot Noir and meet the winemakers behind the brands, all in the one place.”

“It’s going to be a magnificent celebration of this important variety, with fantastic cuisine, and insanely good kiwi entertainment thrown in for good measure.”

Held every four years, the event brings together 117 of New Zealand’s top Pinot Noir producers, who will showcase over 300 wines. There will be intellectual discussion, world-class keynote speakers, and plenty of tasting sessions to stimulate the senses.
