At the Australia and New Zealand collaborating on food safety event, participants were introduced to the FPSC Board, given an overview of current collaborations, and had the opportunity to network.
Richard Bennett presented to a full house at the FPSC Food Safety Issues Forum. He explained what was happening with QA harmonisation, and the implications for NZ. Together with participants, he explored what was at stake, and the recent food safety issues that had damaged the reputation of the fresh produce industry.
The main focus of the forum was for participants to share experiences and ideas about what was making their job of keeping food safe more difficult. It canvassed possible opportunities for the industry collectively to build trust and reputation with consumers; and discussed how things could be done better with collaboration.
