As part of its continuing efforts to improve trade and investment in the Pacific Islands, the organisation said it has created a brand new website with modern design and functionality including a new Trade Portal.
“In response to recommendations made at the recent Forum Trade Minister's Meeting we have updated our website and created an online Trade Portal,” said Sydney Office’s Trade Commissioner, Caleb Jarvis. “We are very excited to launch this initiative today and feel it is a great platform for sharing information about Pacific Islands exports and investment opportunities.”
A ‘Web Portal’ is a specially designed website that brings diverse information together from multiple sources. PT&I said that its portal could be thought of as a two-way door – allowing it to provide information, and at the same time allowing it to receive intelligence and feedback from the site’s visitors.
For example, Pacific Island businesses looking for investors can now apply to be listed on its unique Investment Opportunity Directory direct through the portal. International investors can also use the portal’s sophisticated search and sorting functionality to view the opportunities relevant to them.
PT&I reported that it already has made available a plethora of information and will be continuing to develop and extend the functionality of the Trade Portal throughout 2016.
