‘Pick Right. Feel Bright!’ running to increase consumption of fruit, veg

11 April 2016

To help runners avoid the post-exercise energy crash, ‘Pick Right. Feel Bright!’ will supply fresh fruit to runners as a snack rich in healthy sugars, fibre, carbohydrates and potassium to help refuel their energy supplies. With up to 10,000 runners participating in each event, it says it is contributing to consumer health while positively influencing their food choices for a brighter future.

‘Pick Right. Feel Bright!’ and Fairfax Media have agreed to supply free fruit to runners at the Canberra Australian Running Festival 9 – 10 April, Brisbane City2South on 5 June, Perth Swan River Run 24 July, Melbourne City2Sea on 20 November and the Sydney Sun Run and Cole Classic on 4-5 February 2017. It is also in the process of finalising the same contact from the New Zealand running festivals in early 2017. In total, it hopes reach an estimated 40,000 people around Australia and New Zealand.

Kicking off in Canberra this weekend, Freshmax and Costco Wholesale have proudly donated a combined total of 5000 bananas and apples to ‘Pick Right. Feel Bright!’ for the participants of the Australian Running Festival. Together, it looks forward to congratulating each runner for their marathon efforts and giving them an energy-top-up at the end of the race.

‘Pick Right. Feel Bright!’, Costco Wholesale and Freshmax wish all the Australian Running Festival participants good luck and look forward to seeing them at the finish line. Look for the pink ‘Pick Right. Feel Bright!’ marquee.

‘Pick Right. Feel Bright!’ says it thanks Freshmax and Costco Wholesale for their kind donation of bananas and apples and the campaign’s major supporter, Costa Group, for its support.
