"We carefully select the branches that bear large kiwis with an unbeatable look, harvesting them and packing them manually in a special format," explains Alejandro Lechado, Kiwinatur manager. "Our objective is to transfer a little piece of our plantations to the consumers and make them feel like participants in the natural paradise where our crops are located, where you can feel the energy that the branches transfer."
For this format, Kiwinatur focuses solely on plantations that are over 30 years old, which the company says give the fruit a special flavour, with great balance between sweetness and acidity, which is what consumers demand. "This is a 100% Asturian product for the gourmet segment," Lechado adds.
Kiwinatur's plantations are located in the region of Bajo Nalón, Asturias, in valleys that are characterised by their fertility and excellent suitability for the cultivation of kiwis. The mountains surrounding the plantations protect them from the most extreme weather conditions and proximity to the sea guarantees mild temperatures.
