The speaker programme for the symposium will include experts from across the export supply chain, representatives from Austrade and the Australian Government, as well as vegetable growers sharing their experiences of the export process.
Speakers include Dianne Tipping, Chair of the Export Council of Australia, representatives from across the supply chain, as well as a panel comprising vegetable growers who have successfully exported produce all around the world to share their experiences with attendees.
“Many growers are expressing a desire to commence exporting or build on their current export capabilities, as there is an increasing demand in neighbouring countries for high quality fresh Australian produce,” said AUSVEG National Manager – Export Development, Michael Coote. “This practical seminar has been developed to assist Australian vegetable growers in supplying fresh produce to international markets, as the exporting process can be intimidating for those who have never exported before.”
The Practicalities for Exporting Vegetables Symposium is the latest in a series of seminars designed to develop practical skill sets to assist growers with exporting fresh produce.
“The symposium will feature a range of different speakers who will provide practical advice for growers to help with the exporting process,” Coote said. “Growers will be able to hear insights from across the export supply chain, representatives from Austrade and the Commonwealth Government, as well as growers sharing their experiences of the export process.”
“The impressive line-up of speakers will share their experiences and vast knowledge of exporting fresh vegetables, and provide advice on the export process and the practicalities to help commence exporting successfully.”
“The Australian vegetable industry has invested significantly in export development to assist vegetable growers to successfully export Australian fresh vegetables and the presentations at the symposium will be of significant value to growers looking to establish or increase their export operations,” Coote added.
“Statistics from the Global Trade Atlas show that Australian vegetable exports grew by 5.5 per cent over the last financial year to the value of $270 million. Developing vegetable export markets is critical to the long term viability and future success of the Australian vegetable industry and events such as this are central to that goal.”
