Giannes grew up on a vineyard in Loxton, a town on the south bank of the Murray River in the Riverland region of South Australia. Growing up in Loxton on the farm was a “great introduction into the world of irrigation”, he says.

After moving to the big smoke of Adelaide in 1992 he became a motor mechanic with Holden but finally moved back to his passion where he spent eight years working for Farmhouse Thrifty Hardware in the Adelaide Hills as an Irrigation Specialist.

Giannes progressed his career with PPI starting out as a sales manager for rural and domestic plumbing before taking over as the state sales manager for the mining, industrial and civil division working on large scale pipeline projects throughout South Australia.

van Loon was born in the Netherlands and graduated from Horticultural College before becoming a licensed electrician specialising in greenhouse installations in Rotterdam.

Having spent extensive time in process control working with Priva systems from 1994, he is well versed in the day-to-day operation of facilities.

van Loon first come to Australia in 2001 before returning home to the Netherlands, he then found himself later working across the ditch for RTF Climate in New Zealand. van Loon later moved to Australia and worked for Powerplants and with a view to head north started with Tomato Exchange in Guyra in 2014.
