To create a sense of natural beauty and sensory art in The Beauty Garden, Eastland has collaborated with internationally acclaimed London-based artist, Rebecca Louise Law, to create a permanent, inverted garden of over 150,000 preserved flowers suspended above The Beauty Garden. Called The Canopy, the artwork uses dehydrated flowers as sculptures, presenting guests to Eastland with a permanent installation of natural beauty.
Steve Edgerton, General Manager Eastland says the launch of The Beauty Garden introduces a new and innovative approach to showcasing beauty and wellbeing brands that provides guests with a world-class shopping experience. “The Beauty Garden offers the opportunity for guests to move freely between some of the best names in beauty within one central destination. The unveiling of this latest development to the new Eastland delivers an exceptional sensory experience to all guests visiting The Beauty Garden.”
Rebecca Louise Law says the inspiration behind The Canopy is to reflect on the relationship between man and nature. “The intention for my works is for people to take a moment to be brought out of themselves and The Canopy is no exception. There is an innate relationship between flora and beauty, so this was integral to inspiring the development of The Canopy at Eastland.”
When designing The Canopy, Law used the local environment for inspiration, with all flowers sourced within Australia, including seasonal flowers from the neighbouring Yarra Valley region.
