The Korean Special Act on Imported Food Safety requires that all food products for human consumption intended for export to Korea must be sourced from premises registered with the MFDS. New Zealand packhouses that pack fresh produce for export must be registered through the MFDS website by this date.
To register, go to the ‘Application for Registration of Foreign Food Facility’ page and follow the instructions. MPI has advised that it will take about 3- 5 days for registration to process, and that manufacturers will receive an acknowledgement email.
Companies are encouraged to check if their registration has been successful by going to the MFDS website at the link above.
