Education and Industry Unite

Horticulture New Zealand and New Zealand Kiwifruit Growers Incorporated, along with Pipfruit NZ, brought 27 bright Year 12 and 13 high school students from Wellington and the Bay of Plenty to the Massey AgHort Experience Day last week, where they got a taste of what it would be like to study horticulture. The group experienced hands-on science in the lab, as well as insight into production systems and marketing, and gained insights from a range of speakers including Leander Archer, a 2015 Massey graduate and top prize winner now working as a consultant for AgFirst in the Hawke’s Bay. HortNZ wishes to thank Massey staff and management for an excellent day, and for accommodating several of the students.
