The new group says it is an opportunity as plant producers, along with its industry partners, to now unite, shape and grow an industry body with an influential voice that delivers value to its members’ businesses.
The new NZPPI model focuses on tackling the common challenges the industry faces: new legislation, biosecurity challenges, a relentlessly consolidating business environment, radical new technologies, exciting growth opportunities for some with corresponding shortages of skilled staff. For others, the issues are the ever-increasing demands from customers matched by ever-decreasing margins, climate change, sustainability imperatives, health and safety reforms.
