Hort NZ has CoOL chats with Ministers

17 August 2016

They presented all the Ministers with a summary of CoOL, and the potential value of mandatory labelling for New Zealand produce.

Horticulture New Zealand says that the government remains opposed to CoOL, citing fears of trade issues and saying that voluntary compliance is sufficient. HortNZ believes that this is not enough, and that consumers have the right to know where their food comes from.

Chapman and Raine advised the Ministers that HortNZ would continue to campaign for change and mandatory CoOL.
