Pinot Palooza will take place on Monday, 30 January 2017, with Wellington’s Waterfront being transformed into a Pinot Pavilion containing 120 of New Zealand’s top Pinot Noir producers, who will host a huge public wine tasting.
“Pinot Palooza’s tagline is ‘wine that rocks’, so to accompany the incredible range of Pinot Noir on offer we’ll have local DJs, food trucks and sommelier ‘roadies’. It will be a great time guaranteed for everyone who comes along,” says organiser Dan Sims from Bottle Shop Concepts.
Held in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide every year, Pinot Palooza debuted on the Auckland Waterfront last Saturday, 3 September, at Shed 10, but the one in Wellington is set to be the biggest yet.
Pinot Palooza will kick-off Pinot Noir NZ 2017, a three-day event described as ‘the best Pinot Noir event on the planet’, which attracts some of the world’s greatest minds and palates on the subject. The event will also mark the beginning of a three-week celebration of Pinot Noir in Wellington city, centred on the restaurants of the region.
“Pinot Palooza and Pinot Noir NZ collaborating has happened because of the incredible enthusiasm and support of kiwi wineries for both events” says Pinot Noir NZ chair, Ben Glover. ”We like the idea of showing our wines to Pinot lovers in a unique, relaxed environment. We’re excited to see what’s in store because Dan Sims really knows how to put on a show”.
