Over two days, the committee considered the results of the industry survey, the outcomes of the Town Hall Meetings, the written submissions and studied the structure of a considerable number of other industry bodies. Russell Cummings has helped facilitate the process and help build the report, and the group said that his experience is invaluable to the process.
Pam Watson from Down to Earth Research also attended and gave a detailed report on the results of the survey. The committee reported that the survey data was robust and she was able to clearly overlay quantitative patterns in the survey with qualitative feedback from our membership engagement. Her experience in extracting conclusions from the survey was exceptional.
The Structural Review Committee thanks everyone who has participated in the review. We have collated a great deal of information. This information has guided it in the search for the most appropriate structure for NZ’s Nursery Industry association and has a very sound position to work from and build a modern structure.
The committee said that it would be working through from a draft to the finished report over the next two months. The report will be ready to present to the national board, state presidents and CEO’s at the end of October allowing two weeks for them to consider its contents before the wider industry meets on 14 November.
