A recent Commonwealth Senate Committee inquiry into the agricultural levy system recommended the establishment of an automated levy system that would identify levy payers and the amount they pay. The aim for the register is to connect levy recipient bodies, such as Hort Innovation, with levy payers to provide greater transparency on how industry levies work.
To ensure the levy payer registers are designed effectively, the federal Department of Agriculture and Water Resources wants to hear from levy payers. It has engaged Callida Consulting to conduct workshops with levy payers, intermediaries, agents and rural research and development corporations, including Hort Innovation.
See Callida Consulting’s workshop invitation for more information and for RSVP contact details.
Anyone interested in providing input on the process but unable to attend the workshops can provide feedback on potential levy payer registers via the online survey.
