The organisers say that they had an amazing time working with five florists during the event’s 'design days' in October. Each florist was given a specific NZ grown product to 'feature' in their designs. Then they were challenged to create three distinct arrangements that showcase not only the flower, but also the amazing talent NZ florists are known for.
All of the designs were professionally photographed and released to the media. To give you a 'sneak peek' on what's to come we have put together a small mosaic of images taken over those two days.
NZ Flowers Week has been created to grow awareness about the importance of buying New Zealand grown flowers and supporting the local flower industry. The organisers are looking for nationwide involvement to help celebrate the industry and the amazing flowers grown here and we want you to get involved in any way possible.
The Floriculture Industry has the opportunity to support the weeklong event by creating your own community events, floral shopfront installations and NZ grown bouquets to help spread the word and educate consumers. All events and installations will be published on the website nzflowersweek.co.nz and will also be promoted through social media.
Any New Zealand flower bouquet designed for the week of NZ Flowers Week will be featured on nzflowersweek.co.nz with a link through to website/facebook pages for purchase.
The NFPG along with our PR company have created an amazing media campaign to raise awareness and this will be in print, radio and on television in the week leading up to – and week of – NZ Flowers Week 2016.
Those interested in holding an event, creating an installation or a bouquet, please send images/information and a link to purchase or information through via e-mail.
In the upcoming weeks the organsiers say that they will be sending through POS materials to use in store and online for NZ Flowers Week 2016. There’s also a template 'media release' that can be used with local media to encourage attendance to events.
