Huwa-San – A sustainable way to secure your growth

Some would argue it has been a long time coming, but disinfection using Silver Stabilised Hydrogen Peroxide has finally arrived in New Zealand.

HydroWater Ltd have been awarded the licence to distribute the Huwa-San product range of water treatment and disinfection products in New Zealand and Australia by Roam Technology NV, in Genk, Belgium, and with it comes the support and expertise that Roam Technology have acquired in over 30 years in the European commercial market.

Roam Technology was founded in 1984 as a specialist in chlorine free water treatment and has grown to become a global player operating in over 45 countries in a range of important applications that include surfaces and water disinfection in the horticultural and veterinary field, food and drink industries, swimming pools, and domestic drinking water. In these, hygiene is key and Huwa-San provides this in a very sustainable and ecologically harmless way.     

Important to the HydroWater range is the re-introduction of the Water Tank Treatment product. Over the last five years, HydroWater has marketed this treatment for farm tanks under the Pour n’ Go brand through the national hardware chains, but now with the improved formulation of the European Huwa-San replacement, the product will move also into the rural tank market through specialist water treatment companies.

Huwa-San Water Tank Treatment provides a safe, and highly effective treatment for the problems of water hygiene previously met by pool chemicals or household products that were designed as bleaches and cleaning products. This product, manufactured using only food grade ingredients, makes treating water tanks a very straight forward process, ideal for regular use by the property owner. Water tanks on rural domestic and commercial properties, farm buildings, baches and holiday homes, conservation sites, campgrounds, motorhomes and boats, can all confidently use this product.

With many years of experience in New Zealand, HydroWater is now able to expand its horizons with the support of Roam Technology. Successful use in Europe and other countries is well documented, and is set to be repeated here in New Zealand. Recent visitors to horticultural trade shows and properties in Europe will welcome seeing the arrival of Huwa-San here.

Huwa-San sits apart from traditional sanitisers. When used in irrigation or watering systems, it will eliminate water borne pathogens and progressively clean the system of biofilm deposits, and then prevent their return. While doing this, Huwa-San breaks down into just pure oxygen and water, so unlike many traditional disinfectants that diminish the oxygen content of the water, Huwa-San effectively adds to it, much to the benefit of the plants.

HydroWater Ltd can provide case studies conducted in Europe of the successful use of the product in a variety of horticultural and food processing uses, and together with the technical resources available, is well placed to make Silver Stabilised Hydrogen peroxide a key weapon in the growers dwindling water treatment armoury.
