It believes that this is one of the highest rates of certification in the world, which supports New Zealand's growing reputation as a supplier of safe and sustainable fruit and vegetables.
New programmes:
- NZGAP developed a new environmental programme. This programme is an add-on to the NZGAP standard and will enable growers to meet their regional council requirements for land and water management.It also includes the option for recognition of standards in areas such as waste, energy and biodiversity;
- The GRASP human rights programme was implemented in November. This GLOBALG.A.P. programme will enable growers to meet new market requirements in the area of human rights and employment. NZGAP worked with the NZ National Technical Working Group to develop a New Zealand guideline for this programme.
