NZFGA Misses out on SSF Grant

Industry Development Initiatives miss out on SFF grants

The NZFGA on behalf of the Flower Industry put forward several project applications encompassing on-line resource development, industry statistics capture, and communications enhancements.

Unfortunately none of these applications were successful, leaving the Industry Association to look at other means to tackle the most urgent priorities.

The Sustainable Farming Fund attracts applications for funding of projects deemed to be beneficial to the long term sustainability of the industry in question, right across the spectrum of farming and horticulture in New Zealand. The need and hence motivation to apply has been growing and the resultant outcome in 2014 was that only one in three applications made to SFF were in fact successful.

General feedback on the application reasons for being declined related to the sheer volume of applications, and whilst the projects were acknowledged as worthy, future applications need to look at achievability and global industry sector support as a guide to aid the success of future applications
