Those already chosen include:
Nursery and Garden Industry of NZ: The HortFert Young Achiever winner is Jacqui Jones, a sales and marketing manager at Evandale Gardens, Invercargill;
Amenity Horticulture, supported by NZ Recreation Association: The Young Amenity Horticulturist winner is Sarah Fenwick, an amenity gardener at Delta, Dunedin;
Landscaping New Zealand: The City Parks Services Young Landscaper of the Year winner is Nicolas Muir, a site foreman for Artworks Landscapes Ltd, Christchurch;
Floriculture (includes floristry and cut-flower growers): Belinda White, a florist in Auckland;
Horticulture NZ Vegetable sector: The Young Vegetable Grower is Brett Parker, he will go forward to a playoff to determine the Young Grower of the Year winner, in Christchurch;
Horticulture NZ Fruit sector: The Young Fruitgrower regional winners include:
- Patrick O’Malley, Bay of Plenty
- Graeme Hodges, Hawkes Bay
- Steve Thomas, Nelson
A playoff to determine the overall winner will take place in Christchurch. The Young Grower of the Year winner will go forward to compete in the Young Horticulturist of the Year.
NZ Winegrowers: The Young Viticulturist of the Year regional winners include:
- Paul Robinson, Hawkes Bay
- Jeffery Farrell, Wairarapa
- Dan Manuge, Nelson
- Brenton O’Reilly, Marlborough
- Mike Winter, Central Otago
Aplay off to determine the overall winner will take place on August 28, during the Bragato wine conference.
The Grand Final will be held in Auckland on 12 and 13 November, followed by the awards dinner that evening.
