Advance Notice: Flower Growers Event and AGM
The New Zealand Flower Growers Association (NZFGA) has sent out an invite all growers, both members and non-members, to attend a combined function and AGM in Christchurch on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th October. The AGM will include a number of nursery visits, including K & L Nurseries to view their new bio-waste boiler which recently won an energy conservation award.
The AGM will also include a number of guest speakers covering a range of relevant topics. NZFGA also intends presenting a proposal targeting imported flowers from India. The AGM will conclude on Saturday with a bus tour of the Red Zone commencing at 1pm and lasting approximately one and a half hours.
"Further details, including proxy forms, resolution submission and executive nomination forms and a detailed program of events will be circulated soon" says David Blewden, NZFGA Chairman
"The purpose of this advanced notification is to allow members plenty of time to secure their travel arrangements"
The AGM will be held at Chateaux on the Park in Christchurch which can also provide accommodation. In the first instance interested growers need to confirm your attendance by Friday 5th September
According to NZFGA there will be no charge to attend the AGM, however there will be some modest costs relating to the various tours and visits to cover transport.
