Taste Farmers Market Awards 2012 and Annual Farmers Markets Conference 2012

Feeding our communities will be the focus as Farmers’ Markets New Zealand celebrate over a decade of supplying local produce to communities from Invercargill toBay of Islands.  Parnell Farmers' Market in Auckland will provide the venue where a variety of topics including the current status of the Food Bill,
“Teaching our Children” and "Community Gardens" will be the focus for two days of eating and drinking locally.  The Taste Farmers' Markets 2012 Awards Dinner and presentation will open the conference on the Sunday evening as we announce the winners of the 2012 Awards and celebrate the real food producers of New Zealand who sell their products at Farmers' Markets nationwide

Guest Judge Kate Goodwin said "The produce I tasted for the Taste Farmers’ Markets Awards 2012 was fresh, crisp, alive and nourishing. The vegetables reminded me of being a child eating from Grandads garden. You could feel and taste the love and passion of the people that produce these products. There were new and exciting products also with twists on old classics."  The 2012 Taste Awards will also announce the winner of the Farmers' Market of the year, with over 6000 localvore's voting nationwide for their tastiest local Farmers' Market.
