The guide was developed by an industry-government joint working group. It provides Deed Signatories with information about:
- How the response system works;
- What their role within the system is;
- What decisions they will be required to make.
The guide is a living document. It will be updated as industry and government gain experience in working together in biosecurity responses and as the National Biosecurity Response System evolves.
Growers can download the guide and supporting resources from the Managing biosecurity responses section of the GIA Handbook:
- GIA response guide
- GIA response quick guide – for Response Strategic Leadership (RSL) decision-makers
MPI is preparing an induction programme for Deed Signatories to ensure they understand the guide and what is required of their response decision-makers, and to prepare them for taking part in responses.
Feedback on the draft guide, released earlier this year, and the joint working group’s response to that feedback is recorded in the information paper Consolidated feedback on the GIA response guide.
The Transitional Deed Governance Group thanks the industry and MPI participants on the Joint Working Group. Without all their efforts this guide would not have been possible.
