Making a Meal of Mealy Bugs

The Mealy Bug issue can be a tough one ot overcome for cut flower growers, production nurseries and vegetable growers alike. The larval form of the biological control agent predator CryptoBug L has the potential to clear a crop of Mealy Bug according to Netherlands company Koppert Biological Systems. Due to their waxy coating these pests are not easy to eraticate, the answer may be the predatory beetle Cryptolaemus montrouzieri, whose larvae do not leave the plant as the adult bettle is inclined to do, and which are able to move amongst the Mealy Bug population relatively undetected
