Freesia specialist, Jaap Elenbaas, completes the annual inspection when the stocks are flowering. He reports that the freesias were grown under cloves against aphids and are preforming well this growing season.

The previous spring was colder than normal in New Zealand, and flowering was delayed by half a week. The foliage and plants are still in good condition, so the corms get enough energy to grow in the coming months.

Last year, the New Zealand Freesia corms were powerful and productive. In the beginning of August, the new stocks will be available and ready for delivery.
