Aussie spud buyers favour pre-packaged
Australians have declared that they prefer to purchase pre-packaged potatoes. The latest report from consumer research project, Potato Tracker, has shown that consumers believe one to two kilogram packages are the ideal sizes for bagged spuds.

FAO FPI at lowest level in almost six years
Prices for major food commodities in July hit their lowest average monthly level since September 2009 as sharp drops in the prices of dairy products and vegetable oils more than offset some increases for those of sugar and cereals. Meat prices, meanwhile, remained stable.

Seeka to acquire Australian produce business
Listed produce company, Seeka Kiwifruit Industries Limited (‘Seeka’), has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the kiwifruit and orcharding business and assets of Australian company, Bunbartha Fruit Packers Pty Ltd (‘BFP’) and its associated entities for a purchase price of AUD $22 million.
