NZFGA Day Conference and AGM

The most significant upcoming event for the NZ Flower Growers Association is the day conference and AGM, to be held this year

DATE – Friday the 19th August 9.00 Am to 5.30pm

LOCATION – Auckland Airport Holiday Inn Hotel, 2 Ascot Road Mangere, Auckland

All growers and others involved in the flower industry are cordially invited. Registration fee has been kept affordable at only $20 which will provide you with morning & afternoon tea as well as lunch.  An interesting speaker list is being developed. Free car parking at the hotel for those driving. For those flying the airport shuttle runs every half hour between the airport and hotel. A group booking link will be created for those wishing to stay a night or maybe more, at the hotel.

Arrangements for a bus tour the following day – Saturday 20th August – are under way with visits to greenhouses and nurseries.  Book flights early to get the best deals.

Nursery & Garden Industry [NGINZ] Conference

Wellington 27 & 28 July

If you’ve not done so, time to put 27 & 28 July in your diary and book travel to Wellington for NGINZ’s conference.

There’s plenty to discuss and hear for both members and non-members, for growers, retailers, suppliers and anyone else in our supply chain.

You’ll hear from Ruud Kleinpaste, Phil O’Reilly and Jacqueline Rowarth. There will be focus sessions on workplace health and safety, employment law, nursery and garden chemicals, plant imports, handling pest incursion response and more.

There’ll be plenty of time to network and catch up with friends and colleagues both out of session and at one of two fantastic social events – dinners at Zealandia and Te Papa.

There will be indepth discussion on the NZPPI model and NGINZ members and other interested parties will help shape these vitally important changes to the Association's future at its AGM.

Horticulture NZ Conference –‘ Innovate from seed to plate’

New Zealand Horticulture’s premier event

Horticulture New Zealand Incorporated, in conjunction with Pipfruit New Zealand Incorporated and industry association sector groups will host the New Zealand Horticulture Conference at the Rutherford Hotel, Nelson from the 3rd to the 5th August 2016.

The theme "Innovate from seed to plate" aims to interest and benefit the widest range of growers and horticulturalists and will have an emphasis on technology and innovations that can assist us to further improve our growth and delivery of the world's best fruit and vegetables.

New Zealand horticulture leads the world in third party assurance and HortNZ invited a selection of high calibre experts to come and talk about where we can go next to continue to satisfy consumer and trade needs.

NZ Flower & Garden Show with Associated FLONZI Apprentice Florist of the Year.

This event scheduled for 2016 has now been postponed until November 2017 to allow the organisers time to meet duty of care responsibilities pertaining to the proposed sites at Okahu Bay and Bastion Point.
