Counting Down to Valentine's Day 2017

On February 14th flowers will come into focus for many New Zealanders looking to delight their loved ones. One of the three 'big flower events' of the year, Valentine's Day is a major opportunity for flower growers to promote 'what we do' and link ourselves with the most romantic day of the year.

NFPG have developed an eyecatching 'heart' and petals visual device and a range of banners and count down logos to assist flower growers, florists and other stakeholders to better leverage their own social media channels and promote themselves in the lead up to Valentine's Day. The concept of the 'count down' is intended as a simple and broadly applicable campaign capable of being picked up by a broad cross section of Florists and the industry at large.

Online downloads were made available to interested parties explaining how to use banners on facebook, instagram, as reminder posts and on websites as a visual reminder.  For retail florist's stores, posters featuring the Valentine's 'Petal Heart' were made available during January for collection at the Auckland and Wellington Auction houses. Says Rebecca Jones marketing guru at NFPG: "There is a need for flower retailers and other industry stakeholders to increase their online and social media presence. One of the easiest ways to do this is by using/sharing the effective artwork that the NFPG develops for each of our campaigns."

"Subtle design elements of the "Rose Heart Explosion" visual is the use of gold and navy added to traditional reds and pinks to give the artwork a modern twist" says Rebecca.

Hopefully the eyecatching design and novel idea utilising social media will help to direct buyers to flowers as their gift of choice this Valentine's Day
